We created this site so our friends, through our photographs, can enjoy the places we have visited around the world. As we continue to be able to travel, we will add to this collection of photo Galleries, Slideshows and the Blog.
We Did It: Race for the Cure
To celebrate the one-year mark since my breast cancer surgery and treatments, I decided to participate in the Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" in Portland on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018. We did the one mile Family Walk. Although it was a partially rainy morning, it felt good to be out with others celebrating or honoring themselves and others. Paul was a sweetheart and went with me. I joined my support group leader with the Providence Cancer Institute.
Grace was diagnosed with breast cancer in March, 2017 and we stayed home to do everything right to insure a long life and more travels. She started Grace Blog, in the menu bar, and added posts for each new phase. She took this on as her summer/fall "project" and did whatever it took to have "No Regrets," Her favorite Edith Piaf aria.

We returned to our tradition of winter in Arizona with Grace teaching at the Camera Club, and travel. All is Good!!!
July 25 - August 8, 2018. We started our Canada travels visiting with friends in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We continued on to Quebec City and Montreal for the pre-trip on the Grand Circle Travel tour "The Canadian Maritimes: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island." Unfortunately we had a medical event in Saint John, NB and had to fly home early. (Check Travel Blog last couple posts.) It was a great trip as far as we went.
March 27 - April 10, 2017 we had the privileged of being able to repeat the "Baja, California; A Remarkable Journey" photo expedition with Lindblad aboard the National Geographic Sea Lion. Our good friend Jack Swenson was the Expedition Leader and he guided us around Baja and into the Sea of Cortez looking for marine mammals and taking walks on isolated islands. It was a fabulous trip.
February 1 - 12, 2017 we took our second trip to Cuba on a People-to-People trip: Cuba Revealed: Cultural Pathways from Camaguey to Havana, with Grand Circle Foundation. It was a great trip and we saw a different area of Cuba from our 2013 trip.
April/May 2016 we had a great three weeks in Italy on an OAT trip: Tuscany and Umbria: Rustic Beauty in the Italian Heartland. I have a few Blog posts about some of our unusual experiences.
We had two fabulous trips in 2015. The first was to Eastern Europe. It was really two trips back-to-back. The first was an Overseas Adventure Travel trip: "Jewels of Bohemia: Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia & Hungary" followed by a river cruise on the Danube with Grand Circle Travel: "Eastern Europe to the Black Sea: Budapest to Bucharest."
The second great trip in August 2015 was "Wildlife Paradise Photo Safari by Private Air: Including South Africa, Botswana and Namibia," with Jack and Rikki Swenson through Lindblad Expeditions and Eyes on Africa. We were promised leopards, and were not disappointed.
Desert Meadows Park, Green Valley
Desert Meadows Park, located just off Abrego and Continental in Green Valley, AZ, has been designed and is maintained by the Green Valley Gardeners. It is a lovely 4.2 acre place to walk the paths, enjoy the desert plants and artwork, or stop to rest and enjoy the many areas to sit in the shade. All photos were taken with my iPhone X.
Fall In Green Valley, AZ
We have had some gorgeous weather, and then there have been a number of days with thunder storms and lots of rain. No one complains about getting rain, however. It makes the flowers bloom and greens up the area.
