Southern Africa, 2015

This was our fifth African safari, the first being in 2005. On this safari, "Wildlife Paradise Photo Safari by Private Air: including South Africa, Botswana & Namibia," we were assured that we would have chances to see leopards. Up until this safari, we had not had very good sightings of leopards. We were not disappointed, On the first day at Mala Mala we saw our first. Each camp had its own unique special features. Mashatu had a "hide" at a water home. Chobe Savanna was on the Chobe River and all outings were on boats. Chitabe was in the Okavanga Delta. Kings Pool was back up north in Botswana where there were wild dogs as well as boating options. The camps were carefully picked by Jack and Rikki Swenson, Lindblad photographers, and arrangements were made through Eyes On Africa.
Each picture below is a link to more picture of that camp.

Namibia, 2009

This photo safari with Jack and Rikki Swenson was unique. It started in northern Namibia at Serra Cafena on the southern side of the river that forms a border with Angola. We visited two villages of Himba people, nomadic families who live off the land. Next we flew to Etosha National Park in the north eastern part of the country where we saw lots of animals. From there we flew to Walvis Bay, on the Atlantic coast. The next flight took us over the vast Namib Dunes, the oldest in the world, to  Sossusvlei, a camp in the dunes. East Africa was worth repeating, so we went again, with the Swensons. This time we began at Samburu, then on to Lake Ndutu, Little Governors Camp, Sopa Serangetti, Lake Nakuru, and the Ngorongoro Crater.
