This photo safari with Jack and Rikki Swenson was unique. It started in northern Namibia at Serra Cafena on the southern side of the river that forms a border with Angola. We visited two villages of Himba people, nomadic families who live off the land. Next we flew to Etosha National Park in the north eastern part of the country where we saw lots of animals. From there we flew to Walvis Bay, on the Atlantic coast. The next flight took us over the vast Namib Dunes, the oldest in the world, to Sossusvlei, a camp in the dunes. East Africa 2012
East Africa was worth repeating, so we went again, with the Swensons. This time we began at Samburu, then on to Lake Ndutu, Little Governors Camp, Sopa Serangetti, Lake Nakuru, and the Ngorongoro Crater.

In March and April of 2012 we boarded the National Geographic Explorer on the Epic Voyage with Lindblad Expeditions along the West coast of Africa from South Africa to Morocco, stopping in 17 countries in five weeks. Each Picture is a link to that section.
