Beijing

On our 2011 trip to China, Beijing was the first stop after the pre-trip to Mongolia. We noted that China was a completely different country from our 1999 and 1982 visits. There were many more cars, people were dressed in modern clothes and there were many new high rise buildings seemingly everywhere. However the air pollution was severe. We went to all of the usual tourist areas including the Forbidded Palace, Summer Palace, The Great Wall and the Temple of Heaven. There were also plenty of opportunities to observe daily life.
