Japanese Garden

The Japanese Gardens in Portland, Oregon are located in Washington Park, in the west hills, with a gorgeous view of the city and Mt. Hood, when they are visible. The gardens were constructed in 1963 on a 12 acre plot of land above the famous Rose Test Gardens. There are eight separate gardens and a Japanese Tea House. It's values include inspiration, serenity, tranquility and the aestheticism of nature. At one point a former Ambassador from Japan to the United States proclaimed it "The most beautiful and authentic Japanese garden in the world outside of Japan."

The images and videos in the movie below were taken by Grace Pitzer on two different visits to the garden.
