Javelina in Green Valley, Arizona
The javelina is in the peccary family, but not a pig. They have migrated north from South and Central America and can be found living in washes in southern Arizona. They live in large family groups and usually are active in the cool of the night, but are frequently seen during the day, as well. This group came through and area close to our place and I had a chance to jump out of the car and shoot some video and stills. They are eating the nuts that fall from the trees.
