Cactus and other plants of Green Valley, Arizona

Return to Arizona Index
People often ask, is Green Valley really green? They don't believe that a desert area would not be just brown. The answer is always YES, it is a very green swath along I-18 running south of Tucson on the way to Nogales, Mexico. There are many species of cactus in the area along with mesquite and palo verde trees. Along the "river" there are large pecan orchards which leaf out in early spring. So, yes, Green Valley is indeed very green.
